The sophomore season for Sarah Rhinehart continues stay on par as she delivered a top 10 performance to qualify for next week’s state tournament.
Guthrie High School’s Sarah Rhinehart captured the Suburban Conference title by four shots at El Reno’s Crimson Creek. The sophomore shot an 83 to outplay competitors from Carl Albert, Piedmont, El Reno and Shawnee. Next up for the Lady Jays golf team will be regional play on Tuesday, April 26 on the Aqua Canyon course at Cedar Valley.
The Guthrie High School Lady Jays golf team competed at the Cushing Lady Tiger Invitational on Monday. Sarah Rhinehart placed third place with a score of 89. Alexis Sutton shot a 101 and Lindsey Ball finished a 112.
On Sunday, the Cimarron National’s Spring Jr. golf tournament was held at Cimarron golf course. Despite the strong winds, the tournament saw a great turnout.
Drew Dodgion defended her territory by winning the Guthrie Junior High golf tournament held last week as nine teams from 13 high schools emerged onto Guthrie Golf and Country Club.

The Guthrie Junior High boy’s golf team took first place in their own tournament on Thursday at Cedar Valley Golf Club. The win marks the second tournament victory this week for the team.

The Guthrie Junior High boy’s golf team participated in the Mustang North Middle School Tournament at Crimson Creek Golf Course in El Reno. Despite windy conditions, the Jays came away with a first place finish.
Guthrie offensive coordinator Scott Mick has guided high-octane Bluejay offenses up and down the field since 2001, but this summer the coach drove a golf ball 144 yards for a hole-in-one.
