The Guthrie Lady Jays ran into a pack of Wolves and the leader of the pack was sophomore Kelsee Grovey.

Grovey scored 21-points in the first half alone and 26 total as Shawnee handed Guthrie their fourth loss of the season with a 58-31 win inside the Shawnee High School Performing Arts and Athletic Center, Tuesday evening. Shawnee, as the Lady Jays did, competed in the Norman North tourney, but lost in the championship game to North.

North defeated Guthrie in the first round of the Winter Classic.

Once again, Guthrie (0-4) started off the game slow with four points in the first quarter and 11 in the second quarter. The Wolves jumped out to a 25-6 lead to start the game, but the Lady Jays rallied for a 9-2 run to close out the first half as the Lady Wolves took a 27-15 lead into the locker room.

Shawnee (4-1) finalized the game in the third quarter with an 11-0 run and outscored Guthrie 31-16 in the second half.

Guthrie got double figures scoring from senior Alexis Daniels and junior Allyson Chadd. The guard/forward duo each finished with 11-points.

Guthrie looks for their first win Friday night when they travel to Oklahoma City Western Heights. The Lady Jets are 3-3 season and won two games in the Winter Classic last week.
