Guthrie, Okla. -- It only
took 10 seconds for the Guthrie Lady Jays basketball team to see
how the evening was headed in their match up with the conference
champions Harrah Panthers.
Junior forward Allyson Chadd went down
with an ankle injury on the first possession of the game as
Harrah went on to pick up their 22nd win of the season with a
58-28 win.
Harrah improves to 22-1 and is one of the top favorites to win
the Class 4A state championship.
Chadd was immediately taken to Logan Medical Center for x-rays
and showed no broken bones. Chadd was diagnosed with a severe
ankle sprain and could possibly return back to the court as
early as Friday.
Harrah took away any potential drama in the gym by starting out
on an 8-0 run to start the game and led 20-7 after the first
eight minutes.
Guthrie managed just 1-point in the second quarter and the
Panthers led at the break 36-8.
Seniors Kacey Acker, Alexis Daniels, Leslie Hughes, and Jordan
Wheeler were honored after the game for Senior Night.
