Guthrie, Okla. -- Before the Guthrie Lady Jays could do anything Deer Creek had opened a 10-0 lead in the first 4:30 and held onto a 54-33 on Homecoming night inside the packed Guthrie High School gymnasium.

Guthrie got their first bucket at the 2:45 mark when senior Alexis Daniels 3-point shot fell through. Daniels finished the night with 18 points, including four of five from 3-point range.

Daniels not only was named the Farmers and Merchant Lady Jays Player of the Game, but was also announced as Homecoming queen.

The Lady Antlers built up a 14-3 first quarter lead and a 30-14 halftime lead.

Deer Creek improves to 13-3 and Guthrie falls to 4-12. Deer Creek will play in the conference championship game next week in Guthrie.
