Guthrie finds their location for regionals

Guthrie will be the No. 3 seed in the El Reno regional

The Guthrie Lady Jays softball team received notice that they will be heading to Canadian County for the play-off's. The double elimination tournament is scheduled to begin on October 6th.

 

Joining the Lady Jays will be host El Reno, Deer Creek, and Southeast. Guthrie will play Deer Creek while El Reno takes on Southeast in first round games. This is the second straight year for El Reno to host a regional tournament.

 

Currently El Reno is ranked 7th in the 5A rankings with a 17-11 record and Deer Creek is the other ranked team coming in at 15th overall with a 10-17 overall record. Guthrie is currently 7-16 and is ranked No. 20 in this weeks poll.

 

Deer Creek has defeated both El Reno and Guthrie twice this season.

 

CLASS 5A - Regional Assignments:

 

1. MacArthur, Altus, Ardmore, Chickasha

2. Carl Albert, Capitol Hill, Durant, Western Heights

3. El Reno, Deer Creek-Edmond, Guthrie, Southeast

4. Duncan, Ada, Noble, Northwest Classen

5. McAlester, Bishop Kelley, Nathan Hale, Tahlequah

6. Coweta, Booker T. Washington, Claremore, Will Rogers

7. Collinsville, Central, Grove, Thomas Edison

8. Pryor, East Central, Memorial, Skiatook
