Guthrie senior and 4-year softball letterman Kacey Acker signed with Southern Nazarene University to play college softball for the next four season.

The signing took place in the Guthrie High School library with her parents, high school coaches, future college coaches, friends, and teachers looking on.

In her senior season, Acker led the team in hitting (.479), 16 doubles, 15 RBI's, and 19 runs scored. Perhaps the most intriguing number was the amount of times she struck out. That number was six and tied for the least amount of K's on the team.

"Kacey was a huge part of our team in overall leadership and statistically," GHS head Coach Jackson said. "She will be greatly missed."

SNU, who finished with a program best 36-19 record this past season, garnered the program’s first-ever NAIA national ranking during the 2009 season. The Crimson Storm's head coach Tere Webber was the 2006 Sooner Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

Acker, who also plays basketball and golf for GHS, helped lead the Lady Jays Golf team to the state tournament last year as a junior.
