300 x 200 GSP Ad Guthrie senior and star runner Rachel Roberts competed in the 2009 USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Eastern Michigan University this past week and finished as an All-American.

Roberts, who won the Class 5A state track championship in the 1600 her sophomore season, finished third overall in the 3000 meters run and fifth in the 1500 meter while in Detroit. The top eight spots are recognized as All-Americans.

"The USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships is more than competition--it is also about having fun," according to the USA Track and Field web site.

Roberts is now in Searcy, Arkansas for 10 days at a church camp before leaving for a mission trip

on the 17th, in Colorado.

She will continue to train for her upcoming senior year at Guthrie High, but just not in Oklahoma.

"She will go to the Jim Ryun running camp at Colorado State University and plans on staying in Colorado Springs with family until school starts," her father Merritt Roberts said.
