The Guthrie BlueJay cross country team continues a phenomenal 2009 season with
the latest accomplishment of winning the Bison Cross Country Invitational, in
Shawnee, on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University. Guthrie has now won all
five team races this season.

The 5k race was a battle between 5A and 6A schools and witness the Jays finish
2-3-4-5-6-7 to win the team title. Guthrie finished with a team score of 20 and
was 35 points better then Westmoore. Midwest City and Southmoore were next in
line and the next 5A school was Duncan, who finished fifth overall with a team
score of 171.
Leading the way for the Jays, once again, was senior Jason Ogan with a time of
16:36.00. Westmoore's Toby Bothwell won the race with a time of 16:18.
The BlueJays have now won the Guthrie, Kingfisher, Norman, Weatherford, and
Shawnee course's.
In the girls 5A/6A 3200 meter dash, Rachel Roberts finished with a sixth place
showing with a time of 12:42.91. Leading the individual charge was Westmoore's
Taylor Painter in a time of 12:22.00.
Competition will heat up as Guthrie enters the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by
Oklahoma State University this Saturday.
