Seeing considerable playing time on both sides of the ball throughout his junior season, one could make a case that Guthrie High School athlete Kentrell Brothers was the Blue Jays' most valuable player this past season. With his recruitment still in its infant stage, it appears to be only a matter of time before the offers start to come rolling in.

Listed as an outside linebacker and receiving interest from a large number of schools already, Brothers indicated that he will have no preference on what position he plays in college as long as he gets to play. With that in mind, there are a couple of other factors that will go into his decision when that time rolls around.

"I guess it's just where I feel more comfortable at, you know, I can't go to a college where I don't know any of the coaches or anything like that so I definitely have to know the coaches. I don't think distance will have a big impact on where I want to go and my parents will probably help me pick," he said.

Brothers also commented on what he feels his best attributes are as a player that will make him an attractive prospect to college recruiters.

"My work ethic," he said. "I know you've got to work hard to get what you want. Then I guess you could say my ability to play any position."

Brothers will be one of the state's top prospects in the 2011 class.
Regarding the in-state schools, Brothers indicated that he has always had an interest in the Bedlam programs along with Tulsa who caught his eye not too long ago.

"I've always been a big fan of OU and OSU and I'd never really noticed Tulsa until last year when they had their little run at the beginning of the season," he said.

As far as Oklahoma State program is concerned, Brothers lastly discussed what knowledge he has of the program stemming from his most recent trip to Stillwater during this past season.

"I went there when they played Missouri and there was another one I went to but I don't remember what one it was. They've got it to where it's really nice up there. We only got to see the weight room and it was really nice and then we got to walk the field. It was homecoming and I walked around the campus a little bit and it was really nice," he finished.
