The Jays jumped out to a 9-2 lead and never once trailed as they improved their overall record to 7-4 and 2-2 in conference play.

Guthrie was lead by junior Kentrell Brothers 18 points, on seven of 14 shooting, while senior Devon Hall earned the Farmers and Merchants Bank Player of the Game by earning a double double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Deer Creek managed just 11 first half points and managed just 11 shots from the field. Guthrie forced eight first half turnovers and 14 in the game.

Sophomore point guard Codee Gross drained a 3-pointer with :05 left in the first half after the Jays have peeled off the final two minutes to set up the shot and send the Jays into the locker room up 10, 21-11.

The Jays built their biggest lead of the game up to 24 points, 37-13, with over 3:00 to play in the third after coming out on a 13-2 run.

But the Antlers did not go away and pulled within 11 points, but were unable to draw any closer.

Frustration began to set in on the Antlers as the fourth quarter seemed to never come to an end. In the second half a total of 31 fouls were called resulting in 44 free throws and 49 total points between the two teams.

Guthrie returns home for their second home game of the season when they entertain the Piedmont Wildcats in another divisional conference game and will begin the Carl Albert Tournament Thursday by playing the Ardmore Tigers in the first round.
