Piedmont, Okla. -- Zac
Bobo did it at the plate in game one and he did it on the mound
in game two.
The senior has helped lead his team to back-to-back wins over
the Piedmont Wildcats to begin the season, including a 6-4 come
from behind win, Wednesday afternoon.
Guthrie trailed 4-0 going into their final two at bats and were
able to push two scores across in the sixth and four more in
their final at bat to secure their second win to start the
season 2-0.
Guthrie dominated the Wildcats 15-2 yesterday in the season
opener at Squires Field.
Bobo (1-0) pitched a complete game in his first outing this season. Bobo got a
key hit in the sixth and later scored on a fielder's choice. The prior day, Bobo
was 3-3 at the plate.
The Jays must get back on the bus today and travel to Oklahoma City and take on
the Irish of Bishop McGuinness. First pitch is set for 4:30.
The Jays and Irish played three times a season ago with the Irish winning two of
three. McGuinness, who won the 4A title two seasons ago, dropped their season
opener, at home, to Clinton 5-4.
