Jays intentionally lose to
win and claim district championship |

It was one of the most bizarre endings anyone has
ever seen in high school baseball on Friday evening.
Guthrie intentionally walked three consecutive Deer
Creek batters in the bottom of the seventh inning to
purposely lose 8-7. However, with the one-run loss,
Guthrie claims a district championship and the top
seed for next week’s regional.

Melinda Murillo signs
with NEO |

Melinda Murillo has spent the last few seasons as a
Lady Jay playing in Miami, Okla. in the annual
Northeastern A&M High School Basketball Tournament.
Now she will be spending the next couple of seasons
playing with the NEO women’s basketball team.
